Why Work in Canada?
Aside from the fact that Canada is ranked fourth in the "Most Liveable Country Index" by the United Nations and occupies the number ten spot as the "happiest" place on earth by the University of Leicester, there are two more concrete reasons why foreign workers prefer Canada over any other place in the world.
#1 – Guaranteed Market Wage
Canada has strict rules governing market wages for foreign workers. In short, it is illegal for an employer to offer a foreign worker a salary below sector wages for a similar position with comparable skill set, education and experience. To enforce this provision, employers generally need to have your salary pre-approved by a government agency prior to being able to offer you a job.
#2 – Free Healthcare
Children and adults of all ages can visit a doctor or hospital at any time, for as many times as needed, absolutely free of charge as long as they have permanent residency. Moreover, prescription drugs, while not free as in some countries, are subject to caps. On average, prescription drugs are about 40 per cent cheaper than US prescription drugs.
